Significance of the Foothills Oak Woodlands

The waterways, oak woodlands, and ranches in the Nevada, Placer and Yuba County foothills provide critical wildlife habitat and migration connectivity as well as providing scenic open space and conveying vital water from Sierra Nevada snowmelt to the people and agricultural lands of California. The foothills also sustain local economies through rangelands and unique recreational opportunities.

Mission

To conserve and protect the waterways, historic ranches and oak woodlands of the Sierra foothills in the Bear, Yuba, and American River watersheds through collaboration.

Northern Foothills Partnership Commitment

Three land conservation organizations: Bear Yuba Land Trust, Placer Land Trust and The Trust for Public Land have formed the Northern Foothills Partnership to increase investment in strategic landscape-scale conservation of the Bear, Yuba and American River watersheds for the economic and ecological health of our local rural communities, for the benefit of all Californians, for future generations.
